Shiba Inu will be a good dog for keeping in the family if it is properly educated from an early age, receiving special training and timely socialization. He is friendly with children who are friendly and treat the dog with respect.
Training and a proper level of socialization will allow Shiba Inu to live with other animals, but will not be an absolute guarantee of success. He may remain belligerent in relation to his congeners, and will pursue animals, perceiving them as prey. Teaching Shiba to a leash is a sure way to control Shiba Inu’s communication with other animals.
Try to explain to the child that the dog should be handled gently and extremely carefully, in particular, not to pull its tail. Prevent conflict situations and monitor the mood of the animal during the game. Prevent children from touching their pet when it is eating or sleeping. And never leave a child and Shiba Inu alone.
